Staying on top of Indian tech and startup news
Funding rounds, IPOs, policy and results. Where to look, what to skip, and how to fit it into one morning read.
17 Oct 2026
Most global tech briefings barely mention India. If you work in Indian tech, invest here, or are building a startup, you need both views: what's happening globally, and what's happening at home.
What to follow
- Funding and exits. Who raised, how much, from whom, and the steady flow of new-age tech IPOs.
- Company results. Listed startups now report every quarter, and their numbers move the whole sector's mood.
- Policy and regulation. Data protection, payments, digital competition and sector rules often matter more than any single funding round.
- Big Tech in India. Data centres, local manufacturing, and the market share fights in payments and commerce.
Where to read it
ReadKernel reads several Indian sources every morning, including Inc42, YourStory, ET Tech, Moneycontrol and Mint's technology section. They're listed on our sources page. For deeper analysis, paid publications like The Ken and The Morning Context are worth considering if you need to go further.
How to keep it to one read
- One morning brief for everything. ReadKernel's brief mixes global and Indian stories by importance, and it lands at 6 AM IST.
- Startups as its own topic. Open the Startups feed for the full day's funding and company news.
- Make it yours. If India's startup scene is your main interest, build a brief with Startups and Markets only.
A word on numbers
Indian startup coverage often quotes figures in crore (₹1 crore = ₹10 million). ReadKernel keeps figures as the sources report them, so check the unit before comparing a ₹ number with a $ one.
